About the DPCSC

The Douglass Psychology Child Study Center is a Rutgers University childcare center sponsored and operated by the Psychology Department.  The Center provides childcare for children ages 2-6 years of age.  Our university affiliation allows our staff to receive training in the most current educational practices.  Our program is on the cutting edge of educational practices.  The combination of core teaching staff, research investigators and college students allows for personalized care and uncommonly low child:adult ratios.  At our center, your child will experience a curriculum that is child-centered, yet one that prepares your child for success.  Academics are presented through developmentally appropriate practices that acknowledge your child’s individual learning level.  Lesson plans reflect many different learning modalities to ensure that each child is reached on his or her own level and in ways that make sense to each child.  Our classrooms are “yes” environments that provide safe and secure havens in which children feel comfortable and confident.  They are places where children can learn, explore and take risks in learning.  Teachers act as facilitators that guide children through life’s adventures.  The teachers delight in each moment with the children.
