William’s Mom writes: I know that before the age of 12 is the best time to learn a language. I would like my kids to learn a second language like Spanish and Mandarin. English is my first and only language. Any suggestions for teaching my kids these two languages? Any suggestions on the names of good music tapes with kids songs to sing along or classes to take?

I know Miss Karen speaks Spanish; she’s helped Miss April sing “5 Little Speckled Frogs” to the Jellybeans class in Spanish. I may be able to help just a little with Spanish.

I have alot of music and books in Spanish. I am teaching Carlos how to speak Spanish. There is a CD from Disney with music the Carlos really likes. Also on Sunday morning there is Plaza Sesamo in channel 16 Telemundo or channel 6 Univision. If you need help with Spanish please let me know.

I wish I had suggestions. What a great idea. I am in full agreement that learning a second language is smart and also learning through music is a fun method. I am a music teacher and give you full support!
