Hair cuts for toddlers and preschoolers can be challenging & stressful–or they can be incredibly fun–it all depends on the place of business you go to.  Have you had any luck finding one of the “good” places?  Any feedback regarding some of the “not so great” places?  Share your info here!

My family lives farther south than most, but we do have a great place downtown where we get the kids’ haircuts. It’s a salon called Adorn, Bordentown, NJ. While they cut hair for anyone, they specialize in cutting hair for children with special needs. They have therapy dogs that sit with the children (and adults!) while getting a haircut. The staff are great and are incredible with young children. They have a special “kids only” section in the salon that is filled with toys, special hair cut chairs, books–and of course, puppies! We often stop in just to play with the dogs & puppies.

Closer to the New Brunswick area, we once went to a birthday party at “Snippets” in Princeton. It was cute, but personally, I had issues with dressing children up and sending them down a “runway” after their haircut. Thought I’d share about it though, because a number of moms have told me that they were incredibly successful there with daughters who had a really hard time getting hair cuts.

We go the to Hair Salon at the East Brunswick Mall. The salon is right by the Macy’s. They have cars for the kids to sit in and a video like the Lion King playing. It’s great.
